The Information Technology Department has now taken the next step in evolving into the digital age of social media and public engagement. We have just completed testing and have made PharrNOW available to the world, said Jason Arms, City of Pharr Information Technology Director.
This will allow residents and visitors from around the world to visit the main website, click on PharrNOW and watch in real time content published from the various departments within the city. This will also allow viewers to watch city commission meetings and special announcements being produced from the Pharr TV 12 (local access) team.
Our city leadership and city council wants us to be engaged with our citizens. We are blessed with a mayor and commission that wants a digital message and to promote government transparency Jason said.
“PharrNOW ONLINE” is managed by the Internet Services Division of the Information Technology Department. This division accepts content input from various city departments and is actively involved in covering community events, concerts and other events that are of interest to our citizens.
