Pharr, Texas – Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, M.D., and City of Pharr officials are proud to announce that the roadway improvements for Moore Road between Cage Blvd. and Jackson Road have commenced and are currently underway.
For the past eight months, the Moore Road improvement project was in the planning stages in order to ensure that the project would run smoothly and effectively. Now that the project is in progress, the city of Pharr asks residents to please be vigilant of their surroundings and drive safely as Moore Road will at times only have one-way traffic. Barricades and cones will be used to control traffic and ensure safety.
Pharr City Manager Juan Guerra adds that the Moore Road Improvement Project is about safety and convenience. “This project is yet another example of the commitment that our Mayor and the Pharr City Commission have made to improving roads in all areas of Pharr,” said Guerra.
“But it also has a safety component,” he continued. “We ask all citizens to please have patience and drive safely in the project area. This is a brief construction project, and it will be worth it once we see the results,” he added.
The project cost is approximately $332,000 and is funded by City of Pharr local funds. The estimated completion date for the construction is expected in early May, 2017.
