Welcome to Pharr, Texas, a Triple Crown City and a community with bi-cultural diversity, beauty and history. Pharr is strategically located in the middle of the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, only minutes from the Mexico border.

Pharr’s diverse and bi-cultural economic base, highly skilled young workforce and strong business climate position our community solidly among U.S. border regions. The Pharr Economic Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization that assists business and industry relocating or expanding into the Pharr-Reynosa area with emphasis on securing major retail, commercial and industrial park developers and investors.

Since its inception in 1990, its mission is to position Pharr as the international gateway for trade and commerce into the Americas and to recruit business and industry, which help diversify and expand its local economy by creating more investment and jobs. The Pharr EDC is empowered to finance all or part of the costs of one or more commercial, industrial and manufacturing enterprises.

The Pharr EDC helped transform a former Wal-Mart store into an enterprise zone creating an exceptionally well-equipped 68,000 square foot one-stop facility where men and women can earn a GED to be trained for better jobs. The Pharr EDC has been responsible for the development of three industrial parks and in 2006, it assisted with developing over 800,000 square feet of industrial space.

Our team of economic development specialists can help you obtain all the facts and information you need to help thoroughly evaluate Pharr and its region. Our staff can arrange custom tours, schedule meetings with community leaders and arrange introductions to necessary business contacts.
