Prevent Dengue………….By Stopping The Mosquito….
What is Dengue?
Dengue (pronounced den gee) is a viral disease that you get from a mosquito. Dengue cannot be spread from one person to another.
What are the symptoms of dengue?
The symptoms are high fever, bad headache, pain behind the eyes, backache, joint pains, and sometimes a rash. Patients with dengue hardly ever die.
What is the treatment for dengue?
There is no vaccine. Antibiotics are not helpful. Rest, fluids, and aspirin-free fever medicine may make you feel better. Do not take aspirin. If you think you have dengue fever, you should see a doctor.
How can you keep from getting the disease?
There are two ways to keep from getting the disease. The most important way is to get rid of places where mosquitoes breed. Also avoid mosquito bites by wearing long sleeves and pants, and staying in a building with good screens on the windows and doors. Screens with holes should be repaired.
Some people find repellents useful. Use them with caution, especially in children. Always follow the directions carefully.
It’s a fact……….
All mosquitoes need water in which to pass their early life stages. If there are any places around your home where water collects, you may be raising mosquitoes!!!
