Pharr EDC to Host MOU Signing Ceremony with City of Zitacuaro, Michoacán, MX

Pharr, Texas – The Pharr EDC will be hosting a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony with Zitacuaro, Michoacan MX to jointly explore and advance potential economic development activities.
 

The ceremony will take place on Friday, March 15, 2024 with a luncheon starting at 12 pm at the Pharr Economic Development Corporation (1215 S. Cage Blvd.) in Pharr. The luncheon will be followed by a Roundtable Discussion from 2:00—2:30 pm  and the signing of the MOU at 3:00 pm. Media interviews to follow.  

“We are excited about this partnership which will allow us to develop bi-lateral economic initiatives, opportunities, and activities that will enhance our binational economies,” said Pharr Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, M.D. who also serves as the President of the Pharr EDC. 

This new collaborative partnership will explore opportunities for the two cities including near-shoring/off-shoring, re-shoring, and new-shoring related to different operations, services, and derivatives of the Industrial sector, among others.

”We proudly welcome our colleagues from Zitacuaro to the City of Pharr and look forward to a great economic relationship which will advance both our cities,” said Victor Perez, Pharr EDC President/CEO.

The delegation from Zitacuaro will include Antonio Ixtlahuac Orihuela, Presidente Municipal, Miguel Ruiz Ruiz, Coordinador de Gabinete, Sotelo Tello, Coordinadora de Planeación Municipal, and Guillermo Cortes Lua, Consultor Municipio de Zitácuaro.
