City of Pharr Announces Opening of North Fir Avenue to Enhance Traffic Flow, Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Pharr, Texas – The City of Pharr and the Pharr Engineering Department are pleased to announce the opening of North Fir Avenue, a crucial addition to our transportation infrastructure aimed at improving traffic flow and providing an alternative route for commuters.

A ribbon cutting commemorating the opening of the new stretch of road will take place on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 11:30 am. The road will be accessible shortly after the ceremony.

“The City of Pharr is proud to invest in our infrastructure needs, providing our residents with safer roadways,” said Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, M.D. “This project, which was paid through city funding, is now complete and the roadway will be open in Pharr beginning on March 4th,” added Mayor Hernandez.

This new stretch of road, located at the intersection of Alan St. & N Fir Ave. south of FM 495, is adjacent to Miracle Mile Bingo along the IH 2 Frontage Rd.

This new stretch of road will offer relief for those traveling from the westbound IH 2 Frontage Rd. to FM 495. Area subdivisions will also be able to access the interstate highway more easily, providing traffic relief in surrounding areas.

The media is invited to attend.
