City of Pharr Commission Approves FY 2023-2024 Budget
Pharr, Texas – During last Monday’s City of Pharr Council Meeting, Interim City Manager Dr. Jonathan B. Flores presented the proposed budget for fiscal year 2023-2024.
The $209 million budget includes a $135 million capital improvement program for infrastructure projects, such as:
- Bridge expansion and infrastructure
- Various street improvements
- Sidewalk & Hike and Bike
- Drainage & Utility improvements
- Park improvements
Other key projects that will receive funding next fiscal year include:
- Additional fleet for various city departments
- Inventory Control Study
- A new five-year Comprehensive Master Plan
“I am proud to present a balanced budget with a $1 million dollar surplus,” said Flores. “The contents are strategically aligned with the vision of our governing body, who are resolutely committed to innovation, sustainability, and ensuring that our community’s needs are met,” he continued. “I would like to thank our staff for their hard work and dedication, It is through their efforts that we make the contents of this budget document impactful through action,” Flores added.
