City of Pharr Now Accepting CDBG Applications & Celebrating 51 Years of Community Impact

Pharr, Texas – The City of Pharr’s Grants Management & Community Development Department is now accepting applications for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program for Program Years 2025–2026.
This funding opportunity is open to nonprofits, public agencies, and other eligible organizations working to improve the quality of life for Pharr residents. The CDBG Program supports projects that address community needs, such as housing and public services.
To apply, interested organizations can pick up an application packet at the Grants Management & Community Development Office, located at 118 S. Cage Blvd., Pharr, TX. For more information, call (956) 402-4190. Alternatively, applicants may scan the QR code on the official flyer to access the application form. The deadline to submit completed applications is Friday, May 2, 2025, by 5:00 PM.
Celebrating 51 Years of CDBG!
In celebration of the 51st anniversary of the Community Development Block Grant Program, the City of Pharr invites the community to join us for a special event during CDBG Week.
The City of Pharr will host the CDBG 51st Birthday Celebration on Wednesday, April 24, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at The Hub at Downtown Park, located at 200 S. Cage Blvd., Pharr, TX 78577.
This family-friendly event will feature fun activities, food, birthday cake, and even a piñata, as we celebrate over five decades of community development and impact. All are welcome to join in the festivities!
The public and media are invited to attend.
