City News
The City of Pharr Animal Control Services is dedicated to promoting public safety and animal welfare. Its main responsibilities include enforcing local animal ordinances, responding to stray or dangerous animal reports, investigating cases of neglect or cruelty, and managing animal intake and sheltering services. The department also works to reunite lost pets with their owners and encourages responsible pet ownership.
In case of Emergency

Emergencies include:
- Police Assists, including Search Warrants (prisoner’s animals, officers holding animals)
- Animal Bite Complaints (including scratches) Sec. 18-102.
- Deceased Animals on public roads
- Vicious / Dangerous attacks
- Animal Wellness Checkup (unlawful restrain of dog) section Texas code 821.076.
- Running at large of livestock. Sec. 18-4.
How to Report a Lost Pet
- Contact Animal Control Services in Pharr as soon as possible
- Provide a detailed description (breed, color, size, markings)
- Include the last known location and date seen
- Share clear photos of your pet if available
- Keep your contact information up to date
How to Report a Found Animal
- Call Animal Control or submit an online report
- Provide the location where the animal was found
- Describe the animal (species, breed, color, condition)
- Note if the animal has a collar, tag, or visible identification
- If safe, keep the animal secured until further instructions

After 5:00pm, an Animal Control Officer will respond on an on-call basis if needed.
