The City of Pharr encourages residents to become environmental stewards in our efforts to become a sustainable community.
The City of Pharr is active in the area of Environmental Education. We help educate our community on the importance of recycling in order to help protect our resources and inform the community on the importance of stormwater pollution prevention in order to protect our lakes and streams. We also help educate our children on the importance of reducing solid waste and recycling properly. We host monthly community clean up events in order to help reach our goal of becoming one of the cleanest cities in the Rio Grande Valley.
We encourage everyone to make Earth Day everyday. Reduce your solid waste consumption, recycle, and re-purpose and don’t forget to conserve water and plant native trees and flowers in order to help reduce your overall carbon footprint. The city offers a 24 recycle center drop off area for your convenience. Don’t forget to recycle properly.
