Building Standards Commission

This is a seven (7) member administrative commission which has decision making powers. The purpose of this board is to consider, determine appeals, and grant exemptions to International Codes such as Electrical, Energy Conservation, Building, Fire, Residential, Property Maintenance codes, etc. and provide just, practical methods, and other remedy provided by the City of Pharr Building Code, or any other ordinances or regulations, buildings or structures which from any cause endanger the life, health, property, safety or welfare of the residents, and may be required to be repaired, vacated, or demolished. The board meets as needed typically the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Commissioners Room, second floor of Pharr City Hall.
