About Avocado Festival: The Avocado Festival is the signature event of the City of Pharr, first launched in 2023. This annual celebration honors the beloved avocado, a fruit that plays a significant role not only in Pharr but across the entire nation. The Pharr International Bridge is responsible for crossing 80 percent of the nation’s avocados, contributing to $50 billion in trade annually. The festival is a way to celebrate this vital industry while bringing the community together for a day of fun, education, and delicious food.
