Board of Adjustment

This is a five (5) member board with two (2) alternates who are residents and taxpayers of the city. Two members of the board must be members of the Planning and Zoning Commission.  This board hears and decides appeals of decisions on zoning regulations, requests for special exceptions to the terms of the zoning ordinance, and requests for variances from the terms of the zoning ordinances. The board meets as needed typically the first and third Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Commissioners Room, second floor of Pharr City Hall.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Board of Adjustment include:

• Hear and decide appeals of decisions on zoning regulations
• Request for special exceptions to the terms of the zoning ordinance
• Request for variances from the terms of the zoning ordinances
