Manage department and ensure the quality of engineering designs preserve and enhance the health, safety and welfare of the public. Perform in-house design work for various City projects, construction cost estimates and specifications. Review plans for subdivisions, commercial development, City projects, engineering studies, specifications and bid documents.

Construction inspection and quality control on capital improvement projects. Record keeping of all construction work performed by contractors and coordination of material testing with independent lab.

Preparation of plans, layouts and details. Maintenance of City’s standard construction details. Within Department, provide maps, surveys and AutoCAD technical support.

Management and maintenance of City’s GIS maps. Preparation of maps for various City projects and departments. Work with other agencies to ensure the addressing database is updated and accurate.
