How and When to Apply for CDBG Funds

CDBG funds are awarded once a year in August, with funds generally available for spending on October 1. The applications are available from January 11, 2019, through February 16, 2019. The CDBG staff conducts workshops to explain eligibility requirements and to provide technical assistance. All funded projects/activities must benefit low/moderate income Pharr individuals. Public hearings/meetings will be held beginning February 7, 2019 through July 2, 2019, to provide information and to obtain public participation for the program. The deadline for this year’s applications is February 16, 2019, at 5:00 p.m.

The city will also be submitting the Four-Year Consolidated Plan & Strategy with the One-Year Action Plan.  The CDBG office will incorporate the Citizens Participation Process for the Four-Year Plan together with the One-Year Plan.
