How and When to Apply for CDBG Funds

CDBG funds are awarded once a year in August, with funds generally available for spending on October 1. The applications are available from February 7, 2024 through April 5, 2024. The CDBG staff conducts workshops to explain eligibility requirements and to provide technical assistance. All funded projects/activities must benefit low/moderate income Pharr individuals. Public hearings/meetings will be held beginning February 7, 2024 through July 15, 2024, to provide information and to obtain public participation for the program. The deadline for this year’s applications is April 5, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.

The city will also be submitting the Five-Year Consolidated Plan & Strategy with the One-Year Action Plan. The CDBG office will incorporate the Citizens Participation Process for the Five-Year Plan together with the One-Year Plan.
