The City of Pharr Public Health Department Internship Program is an educational, learning experience designed to provide students with meaningful exposure to public health practice at the municipal level.
 
The internship emphasizes learning through observation, participation, reflection, and skill development, while supporting public health initiatives that serve the Pharr community. The program helps students:
  • Earn practical experience
  • Strengthen their resume
  • Explore career goals
  • Build professional networks
  • Apply and grow their knowledge and skills
Objective
The program delivers immersive, real-world experience that prepares participants to step confidently into roles across the public and private sectors.
 
Eligibility:
Undergraduate students (any major, public health preferred) High school seniors (17–18) o Internship tracks: Public Health Programs Community Events & Engagement Communications/Social Media Data, Dashboards & Reporting Community Health Assessment (CHA) Support Health Education & Awareness Campaigns
