Our mission is to ensure the health, safety, and quality of life for residents and visitors. Our department is committed to ensuring that all commercial buildings and residential homes in the city of Pharr are constructed, altered, and maintained to recognized standards for safety and quality of life. We strive to deliver efficient, innovative, and accessible services that foster a thriving, safe, and sustainable community.
Our Goals
- Ensure Public Safety – Enforce building codes and regulations to protect residents, visitors, and property from potential hazards, ensuring safe construction, maintenance, and occupancy of structures.
- Enhance Community Livability – Provide sustainable development and high-quality construction practices that improve the overall livability, aesthetics, and functionality of neighborhoods and commercial areas.
- Streamline Compliance Processes – Improve efficiency in permit issuance, inspections, and code enforcement by leveraging technology, clear guidelines, and responsive customer service.
- Promote Education and Awareness – Provide training and outreach programs for builders, contractors, and residents to increase understanding of building safety regulations and encourage proactive compliance.
